Things to do in Marlborough and Picton

Whether you are looking for adventure or indulgence, there is something for everyone in Marlborough. The Marlborough Sounds is an adventure playground, with wonderful native bird and marine life and stunning vistas. Inland, 20 minutes from Picton brings you to New Zealand’s foremost wine-growing area, Blenheim, famous for Sauvignon Blanc.

  • Walking/Hiking
    Hike to the Lochmara Lookout on the Queen Charlotte Track, one of only two lookouts offering 360 degree views over the Marlborough Sounds. Pass through areas of native bush and climb to the ridgeline. The return trip takes approximately 3 hours. Alternatively, we can arrange for you to do a one-way walk into Mistletoe Bay, where we can collect you by water taxi (charge applies)
  • Mountain Biking
    The Queen Charlotte Track is considered to be one of the best single track rides in the world. Ask us about hiring a mountain bike to explore on two wheels. Bikes can be brought over from Picton. See www.wildernessguidesnz.com
